When air shipping makes sense
Air is generally chosen when transit speed matters more and for many regular parcel shipments.
When sea shipping can make sense
Sea can be considered for larger eligible shipments when the customer has more flexibility on transit time.
Compare the complete quote
Do not compare only a per-kilogram headline. Consider chargeable weight, pickup, packaging, destination, duties, taxes and any special-handling requirements.
Which option fits your shipment?
| Your priority | What to compare |
|---|---|
| A time-sensitive parcel | Ask about available air services and the estimated delivery window. Standard and Express can have different estimates. |
| A heavier parcel without a fixed deadline | Compare eligible sea service with air, including collection, packaging and other charges. |
| Less than 30 kg chargeable weight | The current Blue Sky sea calculator requires at least 30 kg. Ask the office about available alternatives. |
| Large but lightweight boxes | Calculate volumetric weight before comparing either service. Box size can affect the estimate. |
Prepare the same information for both quotes
Use the same contents list, destination PIN code, box count and finished measurements. Changing the parcel details between quotes makes the comparison less useful. Confirm item eligibility separately for the chosen route and service.
Questions for the office
- What is the current expected delivery window for this service?
- Where does the quoted shipment start, and is collection extra?
- Which additional charges are excluded from the estimate?
- What tracking updates are available during the journey?
Do not select a service only from a headline per-kilogram price. Check the complete cost comparison checklist and use the current quote calculator.
